I’m Ujjwal Rupakheti, a full-stack web developer in Itahari, Nepal. For 3+ years I’ve built fast websites, online stores with eSewa and Khalti, and web apps in Next.js and WordPress for businesses across Nepal and abroad, with the SEO set up in the same build so customers find you on Google.

Website Design & Development for Nepali Businesses
I build four kinds of web project. Each one is designed for phones first, tested on slow mobile connections, and launched with titles, structured data and a sitemap already in place, so it can start earning trust with Google from the first week.
01
Business & Portfolio Websites
Service pages, an enquiry form, WhatsApp and map links, and a blog, written around what your customers actually search for. A static site when your pages rarely change; WordPress or a CMS when you post every week.
A landing page for each service and area you cover
Google Business Profile linked and consistent
Static from NPR 18,000, with a CMS from NPR 35,000
Custom online stores, or WooCommerce and Shopify when they fit better, with eSewa, Khalti, Fonepay QR and bank transfer for customers in Nepal and PayPal or card for buyers abroad.
Every payment confirmed on the server, recorded once
Product structured data so prices can show in Google
Sign-in, dashboards, roles and payments. Jhino, Eknas, Nimtto and Sajilai are live products I built from the database up, and I build the same kind of software for clients.
A new design or a new platform without losing the traffic you already have. Every old URL is mapped to a new one, the content that ranks stays in place, and I watch Search Console for the first weeks after launch.
I build most websites and web apps in Next.js and React with TypeScript. Next.js renders each page on the server, so visitors and Google both receive the full content straight away, and the same code grows from a five-page site to a SaaS dashboard. Eknas runs on Next.js with PostgreSQL and Prisma, and Pustau on Next.js 16.
When to Choose WordPress Instead
If your staff will publish every day without a developer, WordPress is often the right call, and I’ll recommend it. I keep it fast with a lightweight theme and only the plugins you need. My WordPress SEO guide for Nepal shows how I set one up, and the technical SEO checklist covers what I check before launch.

03Built for Nepal
Building for How People in Nepal Use the Web
Most visitors open your site on a phone, often on mobile data, and many prefer to read in Nepali. I plan for that from the first wireframe, and I check every launch against Google’s Core Web Vitals targets on a phone.
Slow Networks
Static or server-rendered pages, WebP images at the right size, self-hosted fonts and no heavy page builders.
Nepali and English
Nepali Unicode that renders correctly, a language switch and hreflang tags. Nimtto and Pustau are both bilingual.
Bikram Sambat Dates
BS shown beside AD wherever dates matter, from event pages to invoices, as in Nimtto and Jhino.
Local Payments
eSewa, Khalti, Fonepay QR and bank transfer in Nepal; PayPal or card for buyers abroad.
WhatsApp and Viber
Click-to-chat buttons, and link previews that show your name and image when someone shares a page.
Local Search
A correct Google Business Profile, LocalBusiness data and a page per area. More on my local SEO page.
04Proof
Websites and Web Apps I Have Built
The fairest way to judge a web developer is work you can open and click. Each case study covers the problem, the stack, the trade-offs and what I’d still improve. All 13+ are on my work page.
I saw a real problem in the Nepali market: online wedding invitations were made for Western weddings, not for ours. Ujjwal Rupakheti helped me bring my idea to reality. He built Nimtto with Nepali and English, Bikram Sambat dates and RSVPs for every ceremony, exactly the way I imagined it.
Businesses in Nepal rarely know who their regular customers are, or whether an offer actually brings anyone back. Ujjwal Rupakheti built Eknas to change that: a free wallet for customers, a counter app where staff record a purchase by phone number or QR code, and a dashboard where owners run offers and see results by branch. He understood the problem and built every part of it properly.

Working with Ujjwal on our agency project was a remarkable experience. He approached the project with the precision of an engineer and the strategic thinking of a marketer. 05How to choose
How to Choose the Best Web Developer in Nepal
The best web developer for your project is one whose work you can check. Judge any developer, including me, on these eight points before you pay a deposit.
Open Their Live Sites on Your Phone
Screenshots can be borrowed; live sites cannot. Open each link on mobile data, tap through a few pages and try the contact form.
Test the Speed Yourself
Run two of their sites through PageSpeed Insights and look at the mobile result. A developer whose own work is slow will build you a slow site.
Find Out Who Will Write the Code
At many agencies the person in the sales meeting is not the person who builds your site. Ask who will, and talk to them.
Get a Fixed Scope in Writing
A good quote lists pages, features, timeline, price and what is not included. “Website: NPR 50,000” in a chat message is not a scope.
Make Sure You’ll Own Everything
The domain and hosting in your name, the code in a repository you can open, and the admin logins handed over at the end.
Check the SEO Basics Before You Pay
Ask how they handle titles, structured data, sitemaps and redirects from an old site. A site Google can’t read wastes most of its budget.
Ask What Happens After Launch
How long is the bug-fix period, what does maintenance cost each month, and how fast do they reply? Get answers before the final payment. My guide to website maintenance cost in Nepal shows what a monthly plan should cover.
Be Careful with Ranking Guarantees
Nobody controls Google, so nobody can promise first place. Treat a guarantee as a warning sign, and the same goes for “best in Nepal” claims you can’t check.
Freelance Web Developer or Agency?
Hire a freelance web developer when you want to work directly with the person building your site, at a lower cost and with quick decisions. Hire an agency when you need several people working at once, such as designers, writers and developers in parallel, or round-the-clock support. If your project needs an agency, I’ll tell you on the first call.

What’s Included in Every Website
You shouldn’t have to pay again later for things a website needs on its first day. These come with every build, at every price.

How Much Does a Website Cost in Nepal?
With me, a static website starts from NPR 18,000, a business website with a CMS or WordPress from NPR 35,000, an online store with eSewa, Khalti and Fonepay from NPR 60,000, and a web app from NPR 70,000. Domain, hosting and paid plugins are extra. You get a fixed quote in writing after a short call. For domains, hosting and yearly running costs, see my guide to website cost in Nepal.
How Much Does an E-Commerce Website Cost in Nepal?
An online store with me starts from NPR 60,000 and takes 3 to 8 weeks. The price grows with the number of products, payment methods and delivery rules, and with whether I write the product pages. eSewa, Khalti, Fonepay QR and bank transfer are standard, and PayPal or card can be added for buyers abroad.
How Long Does It Take to Build a Website?
A static website takes 1 to 2 weeks, a business website with a CMS 2 to 4 weeks, an online store 3 to 8 weeks and the first version of a web app 6 to 12 weeks. Late content and slow feedback cause most delays, so we agree a review schedule at the start.
Are You a Freelance Web Developer or an Agency?
I’m a freelance web developer, not a web development company, so the person you talk to is the person who writes your code and sets up your SEO. For a project that needs several developers at the same time, or round-the-clock support, I’ll tell you honestly that an agency may suit you better.
Are You a Web Designer or a Web Developer?
Both. I design the pages and build them myself, so you get one person for web design and web development in Nepal. Layouts are planned for phones first, then coded in Next.js or WordPress, and every build gets the same checks as my UI/UX audit, so the site is easy to use as well as fast.
Why Hire a Web Developer Who is Also an SEO Expert?
Because most ranking problems start in the code. As a web developer and SEO expert in Nepal, I build the page structure, speed, schema and internal links for Google from the first day, instead of one person launching the site and an SEO expert fixing it later at extra cost.
Can You Build an Online Store with eSewa and Khalti?
Yes. I build custom online stores and stores on WooCommerce or Shopify, with eSewa, Khalti, Fonepay QR and bank transfer for customers in Nepal and PayPal or card for buyers abroad. Every payment is confirmed on the server, and product pages carry structured data so prices can appear in Google. Before you start, read how to start an online store in Nepal.
Do You Build Websites in Next.js or WordPress?
Both. I build most websites and web apps in Next.js and React. If you’ll edit pages every day without a developer, WordPress is often the better choice, and I’ll recommend it. For a small site that rarely changes, plain static HTML is fastest and costs almost nothing to host.
Will My New Website Rank on Google?
Every site I build launches with clean URLs, titles, structured data, a sitemap and fast mobile pages, which gives Google a strong technical base. Rankings also depend on your content, your competitors and links, so nobody can honestly promise a position. For ongoing work, see my SEO expert in Nepal page.
Can You Redesign My Website Without Losing Rankings?
Yes. Before a redesign I map every old URL to its new one, keep the content that already ranks, test the new site on a staging address and set up 301 redirects. After launch I watch Search Console for errors and fix them in the first weeks. My website redesign checklist lists every step.
Can You Build a Website in Nepali or in Two Languages?
Yes. I build sites in Nepali Unicode, in English, or in both, with a language switch and correct hreflang tags so Google shows each visitor the right version. Nimtto and Pustau are bilingual and show Bikram Sambat dates beside AD.
Do I Own the Website and the Code?
Yes. After the final payment, the code, the repository, the domain and the hosting accounts are in your name. I hand over the admin logins and a short guide to running the site, so you are never tied to me.
Do You Work with Clients Outside Nepal?
Yes. I work on Nepal time (UTC+5:45), which overlaps well with European mornings, the Gulf working day and Australian afternoons. International work is quoted in USD and paid by bank transfer, Wise or PayPal, and I’m happy to sign an NDA. Each country has its own page, for example hire a web developer from Nepal for a US business or remote web developer for UK businesses.
Tell Me About Your Website. I’ll Send a Fixed Quote.
Send a short note about your business, the pages you need and your budget. I reply within one working day with questions or a first estimate.
