How Much Does SEO Cost in Nepal in 2026?

Audit, local SEO and monthly retainer prices in rupees, what each budget buys, and how to spot SEO that will cost you more later.

SEO in Nepal in 2026 usually costs between NPR 15,000 and NPR 50,000 for a one-time audit, and from about NPR 10,000 to over NPR 1,00,000 a month for ongoing work, depending on who does it and what is included. With me, a technical SEO audit starts from NPR 15,000 and monthly SEO from NPR 30,000.

I am Ujjwal Rupakheti, a web developer and SEO specialist in Itahari. Business owners ask me the same question every week: why does one person quote NPR 8,000 a month for SEO and another NPR 80,000? This guide explains what the money buys at each level, what I charge, and how to compare quotes fairly.

The market ranges below are rough guides based on packages commonly advertised and quoted in Nepal. They are not a formal survey, and prices vary by city and provider. My own prices match my services pricing table.

How Much Does SEO Cost in Nepal in 2026?

The cost depends on the type of work. A one-time audit or Google Business Profile setup is a fixed fee. Ongoing SEO is a monthly retainer. Content writing and link building are often priced per piece. Comparing a one-time fee with a monthly fee is the most common reason quotes look confusing.

Typical market ranges in NPR, with my starting prices marked. The table below has every figure.

Prices exclude paid SEO tools, content writing beyond an agreed plan, domain and hosting. Always ask a provider to list what is included each month in writing.

What Do I Charge for SEO?

My technical SEO audit starts from NPR 15,000 and takes about one week. Monthly SEO starts from NPR 30,000 a month, and most sites need three to six months before rankings move clearly. Every quote is fixed after a short call, so the number we agree is the number you pay.

Monthly SEO

NPR30,000/ month

From NPR 30,000 per month, reviewed every quarter. How I work and report is on my freelance SEO consultant page.

  • Not included: domain, hosting, paid plugins or themes, paid SEO tools and stock photos.
  • International clients: quoted in USD and paid by bank transfer, Wise or PayPal, with an NDA on request.

Because I am also a developer, the fixes an audit finds can be made directly in your code or CMS. That saves the common delay where an SEO report waits weeks for a separate developer.

What Does an NPR 15,000 SEO Audit Include?

A technical SEO audit checks whether search engines can crawl, render and index your site, and whether anything holds your pages back. You get a prioritised list of problems, why each one matters, and how to fix it. Small fixes I can make during the audit are made, not just reported.

  • Crawl of the whole site: status codes, redirects, broken links and orphan pages.
  • Indexing review in Google Search Console: excluded pages and the reasons.
  • Titles, meta descriptions, headings and duplicate content across templates.
  • Core Web Vitals on mobile: LCP, INP and CLS, with the causes of slow pages.
  • Structured data, canonical tags, hreflang and XML sitemaps.
  • Google Business Profile and local signals, if you serve local customers.
  • AI crawler access and how clearly your pages answer common questions.

The audit ends with a short call where I walk you through the top ten fixes in order. You can then fix them in-house, hire me to fix them, or move to monthly SEO. If you want to run the checks yourself first, my technical SEO checklist for 2026 lists every one in the order I do them.

What Does Monthly SEO Include from NPR 30,000?

Monthly SEO pays for steady work that compounds: fixing technical issues, improving and adding pages, building local and brand signals, and reporting. At the starting level, that usually means one focused set of improvements each month for a small or medium site, rather than a long list done thinly.

A typical month for a small business site looks like this:

  1. Review Search Console and analytics: what moved, what dropped and why.
  2. Fix any new technical issues, such as broken links or indexing errors.
  3. Improve one or two existing pages that rank in positions 5 to 15.
  4. Plan or publish new content from the keyword map, built with the same method as my keyword research service.
  5. Update the Google Business Profile with posts and photos, and reply to reviews.
  6. Send a short report with rankings, traffic, enquiries and next month’s plan.

Larger budgets buy more content, more pages, link-earning campaigns and more competitive keywords. They do not buy guaranteed positions.

What Changes the Price of SEO?

Five things move an SEO quote the most: how competitive your keywords are, how big and how broken the site is, how much content is needed, whether you target one town or the whole country, and whether the site uses more than one language. A clinic in Itahari and a national online store are very different jobs.

How Much Does Local SEO Cost in Nepal?

Local SEO for one location is usually the cheapest kind of SEO that still pays back, because the competition is limited to your area. Most of the early work is a one-time Google Business Profile setup or clean-up, followed by a smaller monthly effort on reviews, photos, posts and local pages.

The one-time part covers verification, categories, services, photos and a check that your name, address and phone match everywhere. My Google Business Profile guide for Nepal shows every step if you want to do it yourself. If you would rather hand it over, see my local SEO service.

The Hotel Aarohi website is a good example of local SEO built into a site from the start. It has landing pages for the searches guests actually make in Chandrapur, plus Hotel, FAQ and opening-hours structured data.

Case study: Hotel AarohiA hotel website in Chandrapur, Rautahat, with local landing pages and Hotel structured data built in from day one.

Content is often priced per article and link building per campaign or per placement. In Nepal, a well-researched long-form article usually costs far more than a short blog post, because research and editing take most of the time. Paying per link is where most SEO budgets go wrong.

Content Writing

I have published more than 200 SEO-optimised articles across five-plus domains, and the price always follows the research needed. A short update to an existing page costs little. A 2,000-word guide with original examples, structured data and internal links costs more. See my SEO content writing service for what is included.

Link Building

Be careful with “100 backlinks for NPR 5,000”.Links that are bought, swapped at scale or placed on private blog networks break Google’s spam policies. Good links come from things people want to cite, such as local partners, news coverage, useful guides and real directories. My link building page explains the safe approach.

Should You Hire a Freelancer, an Agency or Someone In-House?

A freelancer suits small and medium businesses that want to talk directly to the person doing the work. An agency suits companies that need many people at once, such as SEO, ads and social media together. An in-house hire makes sense once SEO is a full-time job and you can train and manage the person.

The Warning Signs of Cheap SEO

Cheap SEO becomes expensive when it damages the site. The warning signs are easy to spot: guaranteed rankings, large link counts for a small fee, no access to your own Search Console, and reports full of numbers but empty of actual work done on your site.

  • Guarantees: “first page in 30 days” or “number one on Google”. Nobody can promise that.
  • Link bundles: hundreds of links each month from unrelated or foreign-language sites.
  • Keyword stuffing: city names repeated in titles, footers and the Google Business Profile name.
  • No ownership: the provider creates accounts in their own name instead of yours.
  • Vague reports: rankings for words no customer searches, with no list of tasks completed.

Two questions that sort good providers from bad onesAsk any provider for a sample monthly report and a list of the tasks they would do in the first three months. A good provider can answer both in plain language.

How to Set Your SEO Budget: Three Examples

Set the budget by what a new customer is worth to you and how competitive your market is. The three examples below are illustrations, not real clients. They show how scope changes the price more than the size of the business does.

Audit from NPR 15,000, then a modest monthly plan

A Clinic or Restaurant in One City

Start with a one-time Google Business Profile clean-up and a technical audit from NPR 15,000. Then a modest monthly plan focused on reviews, photos and one local page each month is usually enough to compete in a smaller city.

Monthly SEO from NPR 30,000, for six months or more

A Service Business Selling Across Nepal

Plan for monthly SEO from NPR 30,000 for at least six months. The money goes into service pages, guides that answer buyer questions, and steady technical upkeep. Content written in-house can keep the cost down.

Audit first, then quoted by categories and markets

An Online Store or SaaS Selling Abroad

Start with an audit, because templates, filters and product pages can create thousands of duplicate URLs. After that, the budget depends on the number of categories and markets. Products like Nimtto (live at nimtto.com), which serves Nepal and international buyers, need hreflang, separate sitemaps and product structured data from day one.

How Do You Measure the Return on SEO?

Measure SEO by enquiries and sales, not only rankings. Track calls, form submissions and WhatsApp clicks from organic search in Google Analytics 4, and compare them with what you spend each month. A page that ranks for a search nobody buys from is a vanity result.

Give SEO at least six months before judging it, and review the trend, not single weeks. If you want to understand the work itself before spending anything, my guide to doing SEO in 2026 explains each step, and my SEO tools guide shows what you can do with free tools.

FAQ: SEO Cost in Nepal

Monthly prices, audits, local SEO budgets and what no honest provider will promise.

Ask me on WhatsApp

How Much Does SEO Cost per Month in Nepal?

Monthly SEO in Nepal is commonly quoted from about NPR 10,000 to over NPR 1,00,000, depending on the provider and the work included. With me, monthly SEO starts from NPR 30,000. Content writing beyond the plan and paid tools are quoted separately, so ask every provider to list the monthly tasks in writing.

How Much Does an SEO Audit Cost in Nepal?

A technical SEO audit with me starts from NPR 15,000 for a small or medium website and takes about one week. Larger sites, online stores and sites with many languages cost more because there are more templates and pages to check. Across the market, one-time audits range from about NPR 10,000 to over NPR 50,000.

What Budget Do I Need for Local SEO in Nepal?

A one-time Google Business Profile setup and local SEO clean-up is a sensible starting point for a single-location business. After that, a small monthly budget for reviews, posts, photos and one or two local pages is usually enough in a smaller city. Competitive categories in Kathmandu need more.

Why Do SEO Quotes in Nepal Differ This Much?

Quotes mix different kinds of work. A one-time audit or profile setup is a fixed fee, ongoing SEO is a monthly retainer, and content or links are often priced per piece. The scope also differs: keyword competition, site size, technical health, content and languages all change the price. Compare the monthly task lists, not the totals.

How Long Before I See a Return on SEO?

Most sites see early movement in 3 to 6 months. New domains and competitive national keywords can take 6 to 12 months. Technical fixes on an established site and Google Business Profile work often show results sooner. Judge the return by enquiries and sales from organic search, not by rankings alone.

Is Cheap SEO in Nepal Worth It?

A low price is fine when the scope is small and clear, such as a one-time profile setup. Be careful with very cheap monthly packages that promise many backlinks or guaranteed first-page rankings. Those links often break Google’s spam policies, and cleaning up after them costs more than the package saved.

Do You Charge International Clients in USD?

Yes. International clients are quoted and invoiced in USD and can pay by bank transfer, Wise or PayPal. I am happy to sign an NDA before we look at your site, and the work and reporting are the same as for clients in Nepal.

Can Anyone Guarantee SEO Rankings?

No. Nobody controls Google’s rankings, so an honest provider will not guarantee a position. What I can commit to is a clear list of work each month, fixes made in the code where needed, and a monthly report on rankings, traffic and enquiries.
