The best SEO tools for Nepal in 2026 are mostly free: Google Search Console, Bing Webmaster Tools, Google Business Profile, Google Keyword Planner, PageSpeed Insights and the free version of Screaming Frog. Paid tools such as Ahrefs and Semrush are worth it once you manage several sites or compete for national keywords.
Most SEO tool lists are written for the US or UK market and recommend expensive subscriptions first. Nepali sites have different needs: small search volumes, queries in English, romanised Nepali and Devanagari, a lot of local intent, and budgets measured in rupees.
I am Ujjwal Rupakheti, a web developer and SEO specialist in Itahari. These are the tools I use on my own products and on client work, with what each one is good for and when it is worth paying. I do not earn commission from any of them.
What Makes an SEO Tool Useful for a Nepali Website?
A useful tool for Nepal gives you real data about Nepali searches, handles Devanagari text, supports local SEO, and is priced in proportion to what one new customer is worth to you. Data straight from Google and Microsoft beats estimates, because third-party tools have thin data for small markets like Nepal.
First-party data, such as Search Console, is exact. Third-party tools estimate volumes from samples, and Nepal is a small sample.
You should be able to filter by Nepal, because global numbers hide local demand.
The tool should accept Devanagari input and not break Nepali text.
A monthly fee should be covered by the extra work or sales it helps you win.
The Best Free SEO Tools in 2026
Start with the free tools from Google and Microsoft, because they report what actually happened in search. Together they cover measurement, indexing, keyword ideas, speed, structured data and local listings. Add a free crawler and you have everything a small or medium site needs.
1. Google Search Console
Search Console shows the exact queries that brought people to your site, including Devanagari and romanised Nepali searches that no paid tool tracks well. Filter the Performance report by country to see Nepal on its own. The Pages report explains why URLs are not indexed, and the Core Web Vitals report uses real-user data when you have enough traffic.
2. Bing Webmaster Tools
Bing Webmaster Tools can import your sites from Search Console in a few clicks. Bing’s index powers Microsoft Copilot and is used by other AI search products, so it matters more than its search share suggests. It also includes a free site scan and backlink data.
3. Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity
Analytics 4 shows which pages bring enquiries when you mark form submissions, calls and WhatsApp clicks as key events. Microsoft Clarity adds heatmaps and session recordings, which show where mobile visitors get stuck. Keep both light, because every script adds weight on slow connections.
4. Google Keyword Planner and Google Trends
Keyword Planner gives keyword ideas and volume ranges. Set the location to Nepal. Without an active ad campaign, you see broad ranges rather than exact numbers, so use it to compare keywords, not to forecast traffic. Google Trends shows seasonality, such as demand around Dashain, Tihar or the wedding season.
5. PageSpeed Insights and Lighthouse
PageSpeed Insights reports LCP, INP and CLS, the three Core Web Vitals. INP replaced FID in March 2024. Small sites often lack enough real-user data, so you will see Lighthouse lab results instead. Use them to find causes, then confirm with Search Console once data appears. The thresholds are explained in my technical SEO checklist.
6. Rich Results Test and Schema Markup Validator
Google’s Rich Results Test shows which rich results a page is eligible for. The Schema Markup Validator checks any schema.org type, including ones Google does not show as rich results.
7. Screaming Frog SEO Spider (Free Version)
Screaming Frog finds broken links, redirect chains, missing or duplicate titles, canonical problems and orphan pages. The free limit of 500 URLs covers most Nepali business sites. Larger sites need the paid licence.
8. Ahrefs Webmaster Tools
Verify your site and Ahrefs Webmaster Tools shows the links pointing to it and runs a regular site audit. It does not let you research competitors, but it gives you a good share of Ahrefs data for your own site at no cost.
9. Google Business Profile
It is a listing rather than an analysis tool, but for local businesses it is the single most important free asset. The Performance section shows calls, direction requests and the searches that found you. My Google Business Profile setup guide covers verification in Nepal.
Paid SEO Tools Worth the Money in Nepal
Paid tools are worth it when they save you hours of manual work or win you clients. For a single local business, they rarely pay back. For freelancers with several clients, agencies, or businesses competing nationally and abroad, competitor and backlink research from Ahrefs or Semrush can justify the cost.
Check prices before you subscribePrices below were checked at the time of writing and are billed in USD or GBP, so rupee amounts move with the exchange rate. Always check the vendor’s pricing page before you subscribe.
Ahrefs
Ahrefs has one of the largest backlink indexes available. Site Explorer shows the keywords and links behind any competitor, and Content Gap shows queries your rivals rank for and you do not. Its Nepal data is thinner than its US data, so trust its link data more than its Nepali volume estimates.
Semrush
Semrush covers similar ground to Ahrefs and adds paid search research, content tools and reporting that agencies like. Its position tracking can follow rankings in Nepal. Choose it if you also run Google Ads or manage several marketing channels for clients.
Screaming Frog (Paid Licence)
The paid licence removes the 500 URL limit and adds JavaScript rendering, scheduling, custom extraction and integrations with Search Console and PageSpeed Insights. For anyone running technical audits regularly, it is the best value paid tool on this list.
Ubersuggest
Ubersuggest offers keyword ideas, a site audit and basic competitor data at a lower price than the big suites. Its data for Nepal is limited, so use it for ideas and structure rather than precise numbers.
How Do These SEO Tools Compare?
Use the free tools for anything about your own site, and paid tools for research about other sites. The table below sums up where each tool fits for a Nepali website.

| Google Search Console | Free | Real queries, indexing, CWV | Exact, first-party |
| Bing Webmaster Tools | Free | Bing and Copilot visibility | Exact, first-party |
| Google Business Profile | Free | Map pack and local calls | Exact, first-party |
| Keyword Planner and Trends | Free | Keyword ideas and seasonality | Ranges |
| PageSpeed Insights | Free | Core Web Vitals | Field data if traffic allows |
| Screaming Frog | Free to 500 URLs, then annual licence | Technical crawls | Not applicable |
| Ahrefs Webmaster Tools | Free | Your own backlinks and audits | Estimated |
| Ahrefs | Main plans over USD 100 a month | Competitor and link research | Estimated, thin |
| Semrush | Over USD 100 a month | All-in-one marketing research | Estimated, thin |
| Ubersuggest | Free tier, low-cost plans | Beginners | Estimated, thin |
Which Tools Work for Nepali-Language Keyword Research?
Search Console is the best source for Nepali-language keywords because it shows what people actually typed, in Devanagari or romanised form. Keyword Planner, Google Trends and Google autocomplete accept Devanagari input for ideas. Paid tools have little volume data for Nepali queries, so treat their numbers as rough guides.
Research every topic in three forms: English, romanised Nepali and Devanagari. For example, “wedding card”, “bihe card” and “बिहे कार्ड”.
Then check which form actually appears in Search Console and in the results you want to rank in. My keyword research service builds this into a keyword map for each page.
Which Tools Help with Local SEO in Nepal?
For local SEO, Google Business Profile, Search Console and Google Maps itself do most of the work. Check the map pack for your main searches from a phone in your area, review competitor categories and reviews, and track calls and direction requests in your profile’s performance report.
Paid local rank trackers that check rankings across a map grid exist, but they cost more than most single-location Nepali businesses need. Start with the free tools and a monthly manual check. If you serve several cities or branches, my local SEO service can take this on.
How Can You Check Visibility in AI Search?
There is no free, complete report for AI search yet. The practical approach is to ask ChatGPT, Gemini, Copilot and Perplexity the questions your customers ask, note whether your site is cited, and track it monthly. Make sure your robots.txt lets their search crawlers in, and check Bing Webmaster Tools.
Several paid tools now track brand mentions in AI answers, but their methods differ and results vary between runs. For most Nepali businesses, a simple monthly spreadsheet of ten key questions gives a clearer picture. My technical SEO checklist explains which AI crawlers to allow.
Which Tool Stack Should You Use for Your Budget?
Pick a stack by how many sites you manage and how competitive they are. A single local business can do well with free tools alone. A freelancer with several clients benefits from one paid research tool. An agency needs a paid suite and a paid crawler.
Small Local Business: NPR 0 a Month
Search Console, Bing Webmaster Tools, Google Business Profile, Analytics 4, Keyword Planner, PageSpeed Insights and the free Screaming Frog. This covers measurement, indexing, local visibility and speed.
Freelancer with a Few Clients
The free stack, plus Ahrefs Webmaster Tools for each client site, and one paid research tool such as Ahrefs or Semrush when client work needs competitor and link research. Add the Screaming Frog licence when sites pass 500 URLs.
Agency or In-House SEO Staff
Semrush or Ahrefs on a multi-user plan, the Screaming Frog licence, Search Console and Bing access for every client, and a shared reporting dashboard. Pass tool costs to clients transparently in your proposals.
How Do I Use These Tools Together on a Project?
I use the tools in the same order on every project: measure first, fix technical problems, research keywords, improve content, then monitor. Each step uses the cheapest tool that gives reliable data, and paid tools only come in where they answer a question the free ones cannot.
- Baseline: Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools for clicks, impressions, positions and indexing.
- Crawl: Screaming Frog for broken links, redirects, duplicate titles and canonical problems.
- Speed: PageSpeed Insights on the main templates, then fixes in the code.
- Keywords: Search Console queries, Keyword Planner and autocomplete, mapped to one page per intent.
- Competitors: Ahrefs or Semrush, only when we need to understand who ranks and why.
- Local: Google Business Profile checks and updates for local businesses.
- Monthly review: Search Console and Analytics 4 to see what changed and plan the next month.
On Nimtto, for example, Search Console is set up with separate sitemaps for Nepal pages, international pages, designs, the blog and images, so I can see how each part of the site is indexed. My SEO audit follows this workflow.

Case study: NimttoFive sitemaps, one indexable page per design, and Search Console set up to show each part of the site.
Which SEO Tools Should You Skip or Use with Care?
Skip tools that promise rankings, sell backlinks or generate pages automatically. Be careful with “SEO scores” from browser extensions and audit tools, because a score of 100 does not mean a page will rank. Treat every third-party traffic estimate for Nepal as a rough guess.
- Backlink packages and “automatic link building” tools.
- AI tools that publish pages in bulk without human editing, which can fall foul of Google’s spam policies on scaled content.
- Plugins that add many overlapping schema blocks on top of your SEO plugin.
- Rank checkers that rely on searches from outside Nepal.
Tools only show you where to work. For the steps themselves, read my guide to doing SEO in 2026, check what the work costs in my SEO cost guide, or see my services if you want the work done for you.
Rather Skip the Tools?I already pay for and use these tools on client work. A technical SEO audit starts from NPR 15,000 and monthly SEO from NPR 30,000, with the tool data included in your report.
