I’m Ujjwal Rupakheti, a freelance SEO consultant in Itahari, Nepal. I run monthly SEO retainers and advisory plans for startups, SaaS products and small companies in Nepal and abroad: one person who sets the plan, writes or reviews the content and makes the technical fixes in your code. Retainers start from NPR 30,000 a month.
You talk to the person doing the work, every time
Technical changes shipped in your codebase, not passed on
A monthly retainer where I do the SEO work, an advisory plan where your own staff do the work and I guide it, or a one-time audit or consultation. Most startups begin with the audit, then move to a retainer once they see what needs doing.

What a Month on an SEO Retainer Looks Like
Every month follows the same rhythm, so you always know what’s happening. I start from your Search Console data, agree the priorities with you, ship the work, then report on what changed.
Week 1 · Review
Search Console clicks, impressions and queries, plus anything that broke or moved.
Week 1 · Plan
A short list of priorities for the month, agreed with you in writing.
Weeks 2–3 · Ship
Technical fixes, new or improved pages, internal links and outreach.
Week 4 · Report
What shipped, what changed, and the plan for next month.

A strong reputation offline but almost no search presence. I rebuilt its Google Business Profile, made its details consistent across 20+ directories, added location schema and wrote FAQ content for “near me” searches.

All traffic came from paid ads after two years of trading. I ran a full technical audit, mapped keywords to more than 80 product pages, wrote 12 buyer-intent articles, added Product and Breadcrumb schema and set up the Google Business Profile.

Paid ad spend cut by more than 60%

04Startups
SEO Consultant for Startups and SaaS
Startups need SEO that fits the product, not a list of blog topics: pages generated from the product itself, documentation that ranks, server rendering for a JavaScript app, and structured data that says what the product is. I’ve built all of these into my own SaaS products.
AEO shapes pages so Google can quote them in featured snippets and AI Overviews. GEO helps assistants such as ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity find, trust and cite you. Both are part of every retainer, not an extra package.
What That Means in Practice
I don’t promise AI citations, because no one controls them. I make sure nothing on your site stops them. More in my guide to SEO in 2026.

Hire an SEO Freelancer, an Agency or In-House?
Hire a freelancer when you want senior attention at a small-company budget and direct contact with the person doing the work. Choose an agency for many channels at once, and an in-house hire once SEO is a full-time job. This is how I’d explain the choice to a friend.

07Background
My SEO Background and Experience
I’ve worked on SEO and web development for over three years and published 200+ SEO articles across five domains, so I write and build for the same search engines I report on. I’m studying for a BSc (Hons) in Computing at Itahari International College.
I work with founders and small companies abroad on the same retainer model. Contracts and invoices are in USD, payment is by bank transfer, Wise or PayPal, and I’m happy to sign an NDA. Reports are written in clear English, and I work well asynchronously. That includes SEO for UK businesses on google.co.uk and SEO for Australian businesses on google.com.au.
Nepal time is UTC+5:45, which overlaps with European mornings, Gulf working hours and Australian afternoons. If you also need development, see web developer in Nepal.

Monthly
Technical SEO auditThe usual first month of a retainer
A freelance SEO consultant plans and runs your SEO as an outside specialist, without the overhead of an agency. With me that means setting the keyword and content plan, fixing technical problems, reviewing or writing pages, and reporting every month on what was done and what changed in Google Search Console.
How Much Does a Freelance SEO Consultant Charge in Nepal?
My monthly SEO retainer starts from NPR 30,000, and a one-time technical SEO audit starts from NPR 15,000. Advisory plans, where your own staff do the work and I guide it, are priced by the hours we agree each month. International clients are quoted in USD. See all starting prices.
Why Hire a Freelance SEO Consultant Instead of an Agency?
You work directly with the person doing the work, and you pay for the work instead of account management and office costs. An agency makes more sense when you need many people at once, for example SEO, ads and social media for several brands. I’ll tell you if your project is better suited to an agency.
How Long Should an SEO Retainer Last?
SEO usually needs 3 to 6 months before rankings move in a way you can measure, so a retainer shorter than that rarely shows its value. If you’re not ready for that commitment, start with an audit or a single consultation and decide afterwards. We agree the term in writing before work starts.
Can You Work with Our In-House Developers?
Yes. I can open pull requests on GitHub, write tickets with the page, the problem and the fix, or review your developers’ changes before they go live. Many startups prefer this, because their developers keep ownership of the codebase while the SEO work still ships quickly.
What Will My Monthly SEO Report Show?
Clicks and impressions from Search Console, the searches that moved, enquiries where we can track them, every change I shipped that month, and the plan for the next one. It’s written in plain words, so you can forward it to a co-founder or investor without translating it.
Do You Work with International Clients?
Yes. I work remotely with founders in the US, UK, Australia, Canada and the Gulf. Nepal is UTC+5:45, so there’s a good overlap with European mornings and Australian afternoons. Invoices are in USD, payment is by bank transfer, Wise or PayPal, and I’m happy to sign an NDA.
How Do We Get Started?
Send a short note with your website, your goals and your budget. We have a 30-minute call, and I send a written proposal with scope, deliverables and price. Most retainers start with an audit in the first month. If you only need advice, book a one-off SEO consultation.
Tell Me About Your Product. I’ll Send a Plan.
Tell me about your product, your market and your budget. I reply within one working day with questions or a proposal. Not sure yet? Start with a technical SEO audit.
