WooCommerce or a Custom Next.js Store
WooCommerce suits most stores and has official eSewa and Khalti plugins. Custom Next.js suits unusual checkout, stock or delivery rules.
I’m Ujjwal Rupakheti, a full-stack web developer in Itahari who builds e-commerce websites for businesses across Nepal. An online store with eSewa and Khalti verified on the server, Fonepay QR, cash on delivery and delivery charges by zone starts from NPR 60,000 and launches in 3 to 8 weeks.
01Packages
If customers call you, a business website is enough. If they pick a product, pay and wait for a parcel, you need a store.

Restaurants taking orders online need the same payment checks; see restaurant website design and hotel website design. Every price is on my services page.
02Included
Each item answers a way Nepali stores fail: buyers on mobile data, payments sent as screenshots, unstated delivery charges, or product pages Google cannot read.
WooCommerce suits most stores and has official eSewa and Khalti plugins. Custom Next.js suits unusual checkout, stock or delivery rules.
Send your Excel or Google Sheet; I add up to 50 products with variants, stock and categories, so a sold-out size stops selling.
Search, filters, cart, checkout, order emails and accounts, tested on a mid-range Android phone over mobile data, the way your buyers shop.
A charge per city or zone, shown before payment as the E-Commerce Act asks, and codes for festival offers or for paying online instead of cash.
Product data built from the numbers that print the price, so Google can show price and stock, and the two never disagree.
Orders, payment status and low-stock alerts in one place, a training call, two rounds of changes per milestone and 30 days of free fixes.
Verified payments and the details the E-Commerce Act requires are included too, as the payments section explains.
03Quotation
Tick the products, payments and delivery options you need, and watch the total and the three payment stages update. Download the quotation as a PDF or send it to me; the price is fixed for the scope you pick.
04Price factors
Catalogue work, payment confirmation and delivery move a store quote. Each option is a known piece of work, so each has a fixed price.
NPR 3,000 per 50 products beyond the first 50: photos resized, variants and stock entered, and each price checked against its Product data, because a wrong live price costs more than the fee.
NPR 3,000 per 10 products. Copied supplier text does not rank, and your own can carry the warranty and origin details the Act expects.
NPR 2,000 per page, such as a size guide. Home, About, Contact, Delivery, Returns and Privacy are included.
NPR 12,000, with hreflang. Every product, email and checkout message exists twice, so it costs more than on a business site.
NPR 8,000 for up to 500 products, customers and past orders, with a 301 redirect for every old URL so ranking pages keep their place.
Adds 25% to the one-time total for launch in about half the time. Merchant approvals still take their own time.
05Payments
eSewa and Khalti come verified on the server; Fonepay QR, cash on delivery and bank transfer are confirmed from your dashboard. Automatic Fonepay, connectIPS, cards and part-payments cost extra.
Before the order counts as paid
The amount sits inside the QR, and the order is marked paid when the bank confirms. Fonepay has no public API or sandbox: your partner bank enables dynamic QR and supplies the specification I build against.
Payment straight from the buyer’s bank account, verified on the server. It is a separate provider and setup, and Khalti’s payment page already offers connectIPS, so you may not need both.
Shopify Payments and Stripe are not available to Nepali businesses, so Visa and Mastercard go through your bank’s gateway, with its own approval and fees. For foreign-currency sales, check Sections 8 and 11 of the Act with your bank.
Part of the price online, the rest at the door, for large or made-to-order items. The order shows what is still due.
In your business’s name: eSewa and Khalti online, Fonepay through a partner bank, with your registration, PAN or VAT and tax clearance. I send the document list and build with test keys meanwhile.
Khalti’s documentation says a newly integrated merchant cannot receive more than NPR 200 per transaction until its KYC is approved. Apply early.
Per-transaction fees at the rate in your merchant agreement, plus a one-time API fee that Khalti mentions. eSewa and Khalti pay out to your bank free.
06Delivery & the law
Zone charges, cash on delivery and the details the Act requires are included. Couriers, SMS, invoices and verified reviews are options.
NPR 10,000 per courier with an API: book and track parcels from your dashboard. Nepal Can Move says it offers COD with APIs for online stores; Pathao’s merchants book in the Pathao Merchant app instead.
NPR 5,000. Order and delivery texts through a Nepali SMS provider; credits are paid to the provider.
NPR 5,000. An invoice with your PAN, and VAT where it applies, with every order, since the Act asks for an invoice and receipt on every sale.
NPR 3,000. Only buyers can review a product, and ratings are marked up for Google. Fake reviews are an offence under the Act.
My plain summary of the Electronic Commerce Act, 2081, not legal advice; the official text is on the Nepal Law Commission website. Once the store is live, you apply for its listing, and the Department must send the listing number within seven days.
Under Section 18 delivery stays your responsibility even with a courier, so I set zone delivery times you can keep. Registration and fines are in my guide to starting an online store in Nepal.

First year to others: a .com at about NPR 1,500 to 2,500, a server within NPR 1,500 to 15,000 a month, SMS, courier and payment fees.
A store selling abroad would add the bilingual store (NPR 12,000) and card payments (NPR 15,000). Shops in Itahari, where I am based, Kathmandu or Biratnagar pay the same prices. For other sites, see my guide to website cost in Nepal.
08After launch
The build is paid once. These go to other companies each month or year, in your name, whoever builds your store.
A .com costs about NPR 1,500 to 2,500 a year. A .com.np is free for eligible Nepali businesses.
Online stores usually need a private server, about NPR 1,500 to 15,000 a month, by traffic and catalogue size.
Per transaction, at the rate in your eSewa, Khalti, Fonepay or bank agreement.
Basic is about NPR 4,500 a month, billed yearly, paid to Shopify.
Store care at NPR 5,000 a month: updates, daily backups, uptime and payment checks, up to two hours of changes. Monthly SEO from NPR 30,000.
Register the free .com.np at register.com.np; care plans are explained in website maintenance in Nepal.
First Year: About NPR 18,000 to 1,82,500A domain plus a server at NPR 1,500 to 15,000 a month, before payment fees, SMS and couriers. Store care adds NPR 60,000 a year.
Price your store09Market prices
Store packages advertised by Nepali agencies in 2026 run from about NPR 35,000 to 5,00,000 or more. These ranges are approximate, not a survey, and inclusions vary.
| Typical market range (NPR) | With me | |
|---|---|---|
| Small template store, few products | 35,000 to 90,000 | From NPR 60,000, payments included |
| Store with eSewa, Khalti, Fonepay and COD | 60,000 to 2,50,000 | From NPR 60,000 |
| Custom store with stock, ERP or app links | 1,50,000 to 5,00,000+ | Quoted after a short call |
| One gateway on an existing site | 15,000 to 40,000 per gateway | Quoted per integration |
A cheap store that trusts a redirect costs more later.
10Process
Scope and price in writing, nothing to pay. Apply for merchant accounts now.
Home, a category and a product page on your preview link, then 30%.
Products in, zones set, test payments through eSewa and Khalti sandboxes, then 50%.
Live keys, a real payment of each type made and refunded, then the last 20%.
Bugs found after launch are fixed free; store care after that, if you want it.
You never pay for work you haven’t seen, and late content moves the launch date, not the price.
11Proof
None of these is a retail store. They show the hardest part of selling online in Nepal: taking money and recording it exactly.
Organic traffic went from 0 to 1,200 visitors a month in five months after a technical audit and new product pages, and ad spend dropped by more than 60%.

Working with Ujjwal on our agency project was a remarkable experience. He approached the project with the precision of an engineer and the strategic thinking of a marketer. The website he built not only looks polished but ranks exceptionally well for our target keywords. His dedication to quality and his availability made the entire process seamless.

Case study: SajilaiA rental marketplace whose payment QR carries the amount and booking code; a payment counts only after the business approves it.

Case study: GuruSangaClients pay by eSewa or Khalti QR and enter the transaction code; only a staff confirmation writes a ledger line, kept in whole paisa.

Case study: EknasRupee plans with 13% VAT and a VAT invoice carrying the shop’s PAN, paid by eSewa, Khalti, Fonepay or bank QR, each bill recorded once.

Ask me on WhatsAppWith me, an e-commerce website starts from NPR 60,000 for up to 50 products, eSewa and Khalti verified on the server, Fonepay QR and cash on delivery, in 3 to 8 weeks. Advertised packages run from about NPR 35,000 to 5,00,000 or more.
Yes. eSewa and Khalti are in the package, each payment checked by the server with the provider. Fonepay works from day one as your merchant QR, confirmed in the dashboard. Automatic dynamic QR costs NPR 10,000 more, once your partner bank enables it.
Khalti’s documentation says a newly integrated merchant cannot receive more than NPR 200 per transaction until its KYC is approved and the limit is removed. It is Khalti’s rule, not a store fault, so apply as soon as your papers are ready.
Yes, in your business’s name, so payments reach you directly. You apply to eSewa and Khalti online and to Fonepay through your bank, with registration, PAN or VAT and tax clearance. I send the document list and build with test keys meanwhile.
For most Nepali stores, WooCommerce or a custom build. eSewa and Khalti both list official WooCommerce plugins; Shopify Payments is not available in Nepal, and neither provider lists an official Shopify plugin. Shopify Basic is about NPR 4,500 a month, billed yearly.
I connect couriers with an API, such as Nepal Can Move, which says it offers cash on delivery with APIs for online stores, for NPR 10,000 per courier, so you book and track parcels from your dashboard. Pathao’s merchants book through the Pathao Merchant app instead.
In my plain summary, not legal advice: your business name, address, registration number, PAN or VAT, service and complaint contacts, and your e-commerce listing number. Each product needs its price with tax, delivery charge and time, payment methods, warranty and return terms.
Yes. Tick the options you need in the price calculator on this page, add your name, and download a PDF with every line, the total and the payment stages. Or send it to me, and I confirm the scope in writing after a short call.
The domain and server, paid to those providers; eSewa, Khalti and bank merchant accounts, which you apply for; their transaction fees; and product photos. Descriptions, more products and couriers are fixed-price options. Where VAT applies, it is added as a separate 13% line.
Yes, in three stages: 30% when the design is on your preview link, 50% when the store works end to end with test payments, and 20% at launch. On the NPR 60,000 package that is NPR 18,000, 30,000 and 12,000.
Send what you sell, roughly how many products and how you deliver. I reply within one working day; online stores start from NPR 60,000.
