Google Business Profile
Verification, primary and secondary categories, service area, hours, products, photos and posts, set up the way Google reads them.
I’m Ujjwal Rupakheti, an SEO specialist and developer in Itahari. My local SEO puts hotels, clinics, shops and offices in Nepal into the Google Maps results for nearby searches: a complete Google Business Profile, the same details everywhere, steady reviews and local pages. One Itahari client reached the Maps top 3 in eight weeks.

01Definition
Local SEO is the work that helps your business appear in Google results for searches with a place in them, or searches made near you. The most valuable spot is the map pack: the short list of businesses with a map that Google shows above the normal results. Google says it ranks these by relevance, distance and prominence.
Distance you can’t change. Relevance comes from your categories, services and website content. Prominence comes from reviews, links, mentions and how well known the business is. Local SEO works on the two you can influence, and makes sure nothing on your profile cancels them out.
02Included
My local SEO service covers six pieces of work. Most businesses in Nepal need all of them, but in a different order. The audit at the start shows which one is holding you back most, and that’s where the first month goes.
Verification, primary and secondary categories, service area, hours, products, photos and posts, set up the way Google reads them.
The same name, address and phone on your website, Facebook page, Google, Apple Maps and the directories that matter to your trade.
A review link, a QR code for the counter, a simple routine for your staff, and a reply to every review, good or bad.
One strong page per service and per real branch or service area, written for the searches customers type, never copied town to town.
JSON-LD with your address, coordinates, hours and services, matched to the profile and validated in the Rich Results Test.
Calls, direction requests and website clicks from the profile, plus local rankings, in a plain report every month.
03Common problems
The most common local SEO problems in Nepal are simple and fixable. None of them need a big budget. They need someone to check carefully and fix them in the right order.
A customer or former staff member created a second listing, which splits your reviews and confuses Google.
Addresses in Nepal often rely on tole names and landmarks, so the pin has to be placed by hand and checked on the map.
An old landline on the website, a mobile on Facebook and a third number on Google.
A dental clinic listed only as a clinic will struggle for searches about dentists.
Or a link to a Facebook page, which gives the profile nothing Google can read well.
Customers search in Nepali, but the services and posts never use Nepali words.
Complaints left without a reply are the first thing a new customer reads.

Two local businesses that moved into the Google Maps top 3 within two months. Both started with the same fixes: one clean profile, one set of details everywhere, and pages Google could match to the search.

A local service business that was invisible on Google Maps. I rebuilt its Google Business Profile, fixed its name, address and phone details across directories, and added location pages with LocalBusiness schema.
Hospitality business
Top 3
in the Google Maps pack, within six weeks
A strong reputation offline but almost no search presence. I rebuilt its Google Business Profile, made its details consistent across 20+ directories, added location schema and wrote FAQ content for “near me” searches.
“Within months, our hospitality business was ranking for keywords we never thought possible.”
Process
It starts with fixes, because errors in the profile and business details cancel out everything else. Most businesses see the first changes within weeks, and the bigger gains over 3 to 6 months.
Your profile, duplicates, pin, categories, business details online, website and the businesses ranking above you.
Profile clean-up, merged duplicates, matching details, LocalBusiness schema and page fixes on your site.
A review routine, monthly photos and posts, and new local pages where you really serve customers.
Calls, direction requests, website clicks and local rankings, every month, in plain words.

05Case study
Hotel Aarohi in Chandrapur, Rautahat needed to show up for the search most guests make: a hotel in the town they’re travelling to. I designed and built a static website with pages for the rooms, the Thakali restaurant, the gallery and things to do nearby.
Each page has its own title, description and structured data for the hotel, its opening hours, features and FAQs. The site loads quickly on slow connections, and the booking phone number is always one tap away.

The site’s code, including its structured data, is public on GitHub.
06Where
I’m based in Itahari, so businesses in Itahari, Dharan and Biratnagar can meet me for the first call. Everywhere else I work remotely, because the profile, the website and the reports are all online.
For Lumbini Province, my SEO expert in Butwal page has notes on how searches there differ. For national campaigns beyond local search, see SEO expert in Nepal.

Ask me on WhatsAppLocal SEO is the work that helps a business appear when people nearby search for what it offers, especially in the Google Maps results at the top of the page. It covers your Google Business Profile, your business details across the web, reviews, and website pages written for local searches, with LocalBusiness structured data tying them together.
Start with a verified Google Business Profile with the right primary category, an accurate map pin, full opening hours and real photos. Keep your name, address and phone the same everywhere, ask happy customers for reviews, and link the profile to a website page about that service. My Google Business Profile setup guide walks through each step.
With me, an SEO audit that includes your local presence starts from NPR 15,000, and monthly SEO, which covers local SEO, starts from NPR 30,000. A one-off clean-up of a single profile is quoted after I see it. All starting prices are on my services page.
Fixing a profile with a wrong category, pin or phone number can change visibility within a few weeks. Moving up for competitive searches in a busy area usually takes 3 to 6 months of reviews, photos and page work. Verifying a new profile can itself take from a few days to a few weeks.
Not to appear in Google Maps, but it helps a lot. A website page gives Google more to read about your services and gives the profile somewhere useful to link. A small, fast site is enough, like the one I built for Hotel Aarohi, and a static site with me starts from NPR 18,000.
Ask at the right moment, when the customer is happy, and make it easy with a short review link sent on WhatsApp or printed as a QR code at the counter. Reply to every review, good or bad. Never buy reviews or offer discounts in exchange for them, because Google can remove them and suspend the profile.
Use your real business name as it appears on your signboard, in whichever script you use there. Write the description and services in the language most of your customers search in. Many businesses in Nepal add Nepali words to their services and posts while keeping the main details in English.
The usual causes are an unverified or duplicate profile, a primary category that doesn’t match the search, a pin in the wrong place, or too few reviews compared with the businesses above you. Sometimes the profile is fine and the searcher is simply too far away. An audit of the profile and your website shows which one applies.
Duplicates can usually be merged or removed through Google’s own support routes, once we prove which listing is the real one. A suspension needs a reinstatement request with evidence such as a signboard photo and business registration. I prepare and submit it with you, but Google makes the final decision, so I can’t promise the outcome.
Yes. I meet businesses in Itahari, Dharan and Biratnagar in person, and work remotely with businesses in Kathmandu, Pokhara, Butwal and the rest of Nepal. The profile, the website and the reports are all online, so the work is the same wherever you are. For Lumbini Province, see my SEO expert in Butwal page.
Send me your Google Maps link and your website, if you have one. I reply within one working day with the problems I can see and a quote. Related: keyword research and link building.
